2010 CSA Information

Community-supported agriculture (CSA) is a common local farming business model, in which community members and farmers enter into a mutually supportive relationship, sharing the benefits and risks involved in farming.  Members pay a fee at the outset of each year to cover some of the farmer's expenses.  In return, the farmer provides members with a share of the farm's produce over the growing season.  Members typically visit and volunteer on the farm.  The farmer and members share risks caused by bad weather, disease, and pests.

The 2010 CSA membership fee is $600.00.  Sligo Creek Farm will provide members one paper grocery bag filled with a variety of fresh, local, certified organic produce each week.  Two or more parties may join the CSA together by applying as one member.   The 2010 CSA runs approximately 20 weeks, from mid-May to early October.  A fall season extension may be offered for an additional fee, pending availability of crops (in other words, if we have a warm fall).
